Recognize counterfeit products

Original vs. counterfeit

Bike Ahead stands for innovation and premium quality. World-class athletes like Anne Terpstra and the Ghost Factory Racing team trust our products, which are passionately handcrafted in our factory. 100% MADE IN GERMANY. Each of our products is a promise of quality. Perfection cannot be copied. Nevertheless, more and more dubious online retailers are trying it. We show you how to recognize fakes and why buying them can be dangerous.

Where are counterfeits offered?

Numerous Bike Ahead counterfeits produced in Asia are offered on platforms such as AliExpress and Temu. Most of them are cheap copies of our BITURBO wheels and our THE UNIT cockpit. The copies have nothing to do with our original parts. We generally do not sell through platforms like AliExpress or Temu. We work exclusively with reputable dealers. All products offered on the platforms mentioned are counterfeits.
In Europe, too, counterfeits are repeatedly appearing, sold by dealers.

Many copies have fantasy names. Nevertheless, the product images often show photos with Bike Ahead Composites stickers or even photos of original Bike Ahead parts. These photos are published without our knowledge with fraudulent intent to make buyers believe that the products are similar to our brand. We explicitly distance ourselves from this.

Particularly brazen: counterfeits from AliExpress and Temu that are resold on Ebay or in classifieds. Often as alleged originals and with imitation stickers.

Are you unsure whether it is an original or a fake? We can tell for sure. Just send us an email! Preferably with a photo.

Test - BITURBO Fake Wheel

Beware of fakes!

The fakes differ not only visually from our original products. The quality is also significantly worse. Sometimes so bad that the fakes are a real health risk.
We had several wheels sold under our name on AliExpress tested in the laboratory. None passed the ISO 4210-3:2023, 4.6 test standard. The test simulates the impact of riding through a pothole. That means that with the tested wheels, just one pothole can cause severe damage, up to and including material collapse. A massive risk! In the case of one of the front wheels, the test weight fell through the rim as if it were made of polystyrene. The photos speak for themselves. We warn against the use of such wheels.

Which products are being counterfeited?

Counterfeits of our BITURBO wheels are currently in circulation. Both the MTB and road bike models are affected. Our mountain bike cockpit THE UNIT is also being offered as a fake. On AliExpress, it is even being sold under our name. And with a photo of the original, which was copied from the website of our official partner shop R2 Bike. Fraud can't be more brazen than that.

How do you recognize counterfeits?

At first glance, there is little difference between the counterfeit and the original. But if you look at the details, the differences are huge. We'll tell you what to look out for.
