The first Fork

Blog [EN]

Frame and fork belong together like a pot and its lid — both must fit perfectly. Looks are one thing. But when it comes to a bike, what matters most is what's inside. At first glance, a fork might seem simple. But for engineers, it’s one of the toughest components to master. It has to meet conflicting demands all at once — a feat that requires deep expertise and experience.

For precise handling and confident steering, a fork needs to be laterally stiff. At the same time, it must allow just enough vertical flex to absorb shocks and deliver rider comfort. And if that wasn’t enough, the fork must survive an impact comparable to hitting a wall - without breaking apart. It’s only by carefully layering the right fibers, in the precise order and orientation, exactly where they’re needed, that we achieve the perfect blend of lightweight construction and top-tier performance. Multiple rigorous test cycles — both in the lab and out on the trail ensure absolute safety and seamless integration with the frame. Just like a pot and its lid — built to belong together.
