The Cockpit
You remember. The starting point for the THE SUPERFAST project was a meeting in which a new race cockpit was discussed. Ideas flowed. But compatibility was a big problem. Which bikes would the cockpit fit? Which adapters would be needed? There is no universal standard. Almost all manufacturers rely on their own integration solutions.
Suddenly it was there – the idea for the ultimate gravel frameset, in which the frame, fork and cockpit form a symbiotic unit. Why gravel? Because there are few ultimate solutions in this segment. And because we love gravel biking.
A rough version of a cockpit already existed as a design sketch. It was only a draft, but the cockpit was already a step ahead when the development of the frame and fork started. The first 3D-printed model was ready in October. The cockpit quickly turned into a joint project with Stoll Bikes, whose frames we manufacture in our factory. The Swiss wanted a true race cockpit, we wanted a sporty gravel cockpit. So we developed two variants with different drops.
The development process is now complete. The final 3D model looks great. The grip feel is perfect. The cables are fully integrated – from the handlebars through the stem and headset directly into the frame. 100 percent invisible from the outside.
The details of our THE SUPERFAST cockpit:
- Drop: 120 mm
- Flare: 11°
- Reach: 75 mm
- Lengths: 88 mm, 99 mm, 111 mm, 122 mm (and maybe 133 mm)
- Width: 360–440 mm
The mold is also fully designed and is currently being built. We will be able to laminate the first cockpits in a few weeks. Then we will also know the exact weight.
