Final survey: one or two chainrings?
The question of the type of drivetrain is more important for the development of a frame than it seems at first glance. Can't you leave the decision to the customer and allow for both options? In other words, to be able to mount both: a crank with one chainring or a crank with two chainrings. This is possible on many gravel bikes.
We want to build the ultimate gravel bike. Every detail has to be perfect. For 2-by cranks, more space is needed in the bottom bracket area. In addition, the frame needs a mount for the front derailleur. If you definitely only want to ride with one chainring, the area can be designed quite differently.
So we were very excited to see the results of the survey. There are still a lot of bikes with 2-by cranks. However, the trend seems to be towards drivetrains with 1-by cranks.
As with our other surveys, the feedback was huge. 69 percent want THE SUPERFAST with a 1-by crank. 31 percent prefer a 2-by crank.
An interesting result. Will it be implemented 1:1 for THE SUPERFAST? We don't know yet. We will discuss it. At the beginning of January, we will present the big concept for THE SUPERFAST. Then we will see all the details. Thanks for your input. Stay tuned.
