Rims: The THREE ZERO XC rims are made by hand. The rim holes are pierced before baking and not drilled afterwards, as is usually the case. This means that no fibers are damaged. This guarantees maximum stability. The rim has the patented safe-wing design with rounded rim sidewalls. The inner width of 30 mm ensures perfect support for the tire. The tire has maximum traction in every situation. You can ride with less pressure in the tire. In addition, the shape of the rim in combination with the wide, rounded rim sidewalls prevents damage to the carcass in the case of a puncture. The rim is so perfectly crafted that it doesn't need to be painted. A special polishing process gives the THREE ZERO XC its unique, matt, shimmering look.
Hubs: The THREE ZERO XC Pi Rope wheelset has hubs from Nonplus Components. The young company from Winnenden near Stuttgart stands for functional lightweight construction. The hubs are manufactured in premium quality and stand out from the crowd with innovative details. The freehub mechanism has 400 percent more contact surface than normal freehub systems. It has specially designed conical teeth with 45 teeth each. The advantage of the system: loss-free power transmission and minimal wear. Another practical feature is the self-adjusting bearing clearance. Advantage: perfect smooth function and long durability.
Spokes: The textile spokes from the Chemnitz-based company Pi Rope weigh just 2 grams each. The material is called Vectran. It has a very high tensile strength. Perfect for spokes, as they are only subjected to tensile loads. The yarn from which the Pi Rope spokes are woven consists of 300 individual filaments. Each spoke is cut to length by hand and fitted with metal end pieces. In contrast to the classic version, the THREE ZERO XC rims have larger nipple seats because the Pi Rope spokes require them. The wheelset has 28 spokes each in the color black.
