With THE COCKPIT, this problem is a thing of the past. The handlebar-stem unit is manufactured according to your specifications. This guarantees an optimal riding position. THE COCKPIT is available with gravel or race drops. All stem lengths, handlebar widths, and drop variants offered can be freely combined. This is made possible by our manufacturing production in Germany and an innovative, specially developed molding tool.
THE COCKPIT is a joint development by Bike Ahead and the Swiss premium brand Stoll Bikes, whose frames are manufactured in our Würzburg factory. The aim was to create a cockpit that uncompromisingly combines functional lightweight construction, riding comfort, ergonomics, and stiffness. The focus was on achieving the optimum stiffness-to-weight ratio. THE COCKPIT has been tested for maximum safety not only in accordance with ISO standards, but also in accordance with the strict ASTM 2 standard at the renowned EFBE testing laboratory.
A cockpit is only perfect when it fits the rider 100%. This is how the idea was born to offer THE COCKPIT with custom geometry in addition to the normal standard versions. More and more cyclists are having their seating position optimally adjusted by bike fitters. But while lower-priced handlebars and stems can be quickly replaced, this is not so easy with high-quality handlebar-stem units. Individual solutions are hard to find. This is why many cyclists have to compromise on their seating position, especially in the high-end segment. Not so with THE COCKPIT.
Weighing just 299 grams, THE COCKPIT is one of the lightest handlebar-stem units on the market. It is manufactured using a one-piece monocoque process. THE COCKPIT is not assembled from individual parts. It is baked in one piece.
The special layup ensures rigidity and thus direct steering response. At the same time, the handlebar filters out fine vibrations. The cable routing is fully integrated. The cables run invisibly from the outside through the handlebar, stem, and headset directly into the frame. This is aerodynamically optimal and gives the bike a clean look.
The 12.5-gram GPS mount, which was developed in collaboration with German lightweight construction specialist CarbonWorks and is also manufactured there, is included in the scope of delivery. The elegant yet stable mount is not screwed to the handlebars, but is secured in special mounting holes on the front of the cockpit. A super light and visually elegant solution. THE COCKPIT is handcrafted with the highest precision. The build quality is so high that no paint finish is required.
